“The landscape painter must walk in the fields with a humble mind. No arrogant man was ever permitted to see Nature in all her beauty” John Constable
Sketching and painting landscapes and seascapes.
Have you ever walked towards a breathtaking scene and wished you could capture its magnificence? Then this course is for you. It is an outdoor enjoyable experience. Landscape and seascape art is a depiction of natural sceneries in the countryside, harbor and open sea in wide angle.
It’s a totally different experience than studio painting. It’s an experimental chromatic laboratory where you will observe and understand the unconventional appearance of nature, the continuous change of colors and, ultimately, the rules of composition, balance and harmony.
Landscape and seascapes were born as individual depiction in the 17th century. Artists like Le Lorrain, Poussin, Canaletto, Fragonard, Gainsborough, Freidrich, Turner, Courbet and Constable glorified it immensly. The Barbizon School gained its nickname because of the complete dedication of its artists like T. Rousseau, Millet and Corot to the depiction of natural sceneries. The impressionists, post-impressionist and fauve artists examined its esthetic transformation under the perpetual changes of light, the cubist analyzed its structure and the abstract purified and mystified it.
